چکیده

With the massive increase in wireless data traffic in recent years, multi-tier wireless networks have been deployed to provide much higher capacities and coverage. However, heterogeneity of wireless networks bring new challenges for interference analysis and coordination due to spatial randomly distributed transmitters. In this paper, we present a distancedependent interference alignment (IA) approach for a generic 2-tier heterogeneous wireless network, where transmitters in the first a nd s econd t iers a re d istributed a s P oisson Point Process (PPP) and Poisson Cluster Process (PCP) respectively. The feasibility condition of the IA approach is used to find upper bound of the number of interference streams that can be aligned. The proposed IA scheme maximizes the second-tier throughput by using the trade-off between signal-to-interference ratio and multiplexing gain. It is shown that acquiring accurate knowledge of the distance between the receiver in the second-tier and the nearest cross-tier transmitter only brings insignificant throughput gain compared to statistical knowledge of distance. Furthermore, the remaining cross-tier and inter-cluster interferences are modeled and analyzed using stochastic geometry technique. Numerical results validate the derived expressions of success probabilities and throughput, and show that the distancedependent IA scheme significantly outperforms the traditional IA scheme in the presence of path-loss effect.

On the performance of interference cancelation in D2D-enabled cellular networks

Device-to-device (D2D) communication underlaying cellular networks is a promising technology to improve network resource utilization. In D2D-enabled cellular networks, the interference among spectrum-sharing links is more severer than that in traditional cellular networks, which motivates the adoption of interference cancellation (IC) techniques at the receivers. However, to date, how IC can af...

Energy Efficiency for 5G Multi-Tier Cellular Networks

The heterogeneous cellular network (HCN) is most significant as a key technology for future fifth-generation (5G) wireless networks. The heterogeneous network consists of randomly macrocell base stations (MBSs) overlaid with femtocell base stations (FBSs). Stochastic geometry has been shown to be a very powerful tool to model, analyze, and design networks with random topologies such as wireless...

Stochastic Geometry Modeling and Analysis of Single- and Multi-Cluster Wireless Networks

This paper develops a stochastic geometry-based approach for the modeling and analysis of singleand multi-cluster wireless networks. We first define finite homogeneous Poisson point processes to model the number and locations of the transmitters in a confined region as a single-cluster wireless network. We study the coverage probability for a reference receiver for two strategies; closest-selec...

Stochastic geometry modeling and analysis of cognitive heterogeneous cellular networks

In this paper, we present a cognitive radio (CR)-based statistical framework for a two-tier heterogeneous cellular network (femto-macro network) to model the outage probability at any arbitrary secondary (femto) and primary (macro) user. A system model based on stochastic geometry (utilizing the spatial Poisson point process (PPP) theory) is applied to model the random locations and network top...

Coverage and Rate Analysis for Location-Aware Cross-Tier Cooperation in Two-Tier HetNets

Heterogeneous networks (HetNets) are regarded as a promising approach to handle the deluge of mobile data traffic. With the co-channel deployment of small cells, the coverage and capacity of the network will be improved. However, the conventional maximum-received-power (MRP) user association scheme and cross-tier interference issue significantly diminish the performance gain provided by small c...
